It is important for legal writers to carefully consider their choice of words. A writer needs to use the words that will best serve the readers’ needs. Rather than focus on a readability formula that specifies how many words a sentence should contain and how many syllables should comprise each word, the writer should instead concentrate on how easy it is for readers to access and comprehend the information they need.
